Climbing
Wall Award
The
CWA is the nationally accredited award for those interested in teaching
& taking responsibility for novices climbing on artificial climbing
walls, indoors or out.
Involves a 2 day training course, consolidation period, then a 1 day
assessment.
The
base module involves the tuition of Top (otherwise known as Bottom)
Rope Climbing. additionally there are a further two modules covering
1. Abseiling 2. Lead Climbing
Outline of pre-requirements: *Have an interest in supervising novices.
*A minimum of six months personal climbing experience. *Must register
with the local Mountain leader training Board, who will issue a regitration
number and log book. *Must have climbed on artificial walls a minimum
of 15 times and at least three different venues and successfully lead
climbs.
